Bhubaneswar : The 21st century and we are moving fast in the economic as well social front. At the same time science and technology made our life more comfortable. We prefer minimal physical activity, unhealthy dietary practices, more of mental stress and often with addiction to alcohol or smoking. The major burden of the lifestyle diseases are like obesity, diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure and the chronic diseases like liver, heart, kidney, stroke etc. are increasing day by day. According to World Health Organization (WHO), every year about 35 million people die of chronic disease. A balance of healthy life style, mental peace, right food, good physical activity and above all a holistic approach as rightly said “Prevention is better than cure” is the need of the hour. Wellness Practice is a comprehensive approach to get the best of cure for the chronic diseases and for the prevention of illness leading to a healthy and long life. Indian Lver Patient Foundation (ILPF) a health based charitable organization working for the welfare of patients with liver disease and for the treatment liver disease undertook this wellness intiative i.e. “NIRUJAM-the Ageless Living”.
On this intaive a health check up camp for the liver disease patients was attended by 100 patients, also underwent free test for liver problem including the latest and most advanced Fibroscan test (which can detect your liver stiffness and fat quantity) followed by consultation. NIRUJAM-the Ageless Living seminar was conducted at the Hotel Keshari, Master Canteen Square bhubaneswar on 29th September and attended by nearly 250 peoples coming across the different parts of the state. It started with a spiritual note from Pandit Bishnucharna Moharaj of Puri. Varpious eminet faculties delivered the lectures including Dr Ashok Choudhury (New Delhi), Stress mangement by Dr Sanjay Pani from SCB medical college, healthy dietary practice session by Laxmipriya Sahoo from Apollo Hopsital bhubaneswar and nature cure practices by Dr Pragyan Paramita from AIIMS Bhubneswar. Then Mindfullness practice was conducted by Anindita Pattanaik from New Delhi followed by Yoga practices by Prof Dinesh Prasad Swain and Prof Prativashree form Sri Sri University. The seminar and practice sessions were highly appreciated.
This programme was followed by awarding the Champions of the Society who had excelled in their life in various fields.
